OMG – this is the best dessert I have had in a long time! The flavors are divine and you would never guess there are dates in it!!!!

Okay, that is absolutely divine looking. The name, the mouth watering photos. You can even see in the photos how the sauce dripped down off the glass cake stand. YUM!!!! I’m drooling here.

I’d gladly trade my dishwashing services for a small slice, just a taste!?

Thanks Susan! I agree, this recipe really does help give dates a good name! Even when people asked “what’s in it?”, while they were eating, I was almost hesitant to say Dates! ha ha, as they don’t have a rep for being delicious! But everyone really enjoyed it! This is a great recipe to use, and it really should be a holiday cake. I’m planning on making it again at Christmas. It has that holiday feel to it, and is warm and comforting for winter! It’s a bit more sophisticated than a fruit cake. I would give this a try and you’ll be pleasantly surprised!

This looks luscious! I am so glad you tried this and offered it to us. I think dates are under utilized and under appreciated in any dessert buffet, but especially the holiday dessert lineup. This is perfect for Thanksgiving or Christmas as an altenative to the pies cakes so frequently offered.
