This past weekend was gorgeous. The weather in Vancouver has been much warmer than the past few weeks, months really. I had wanted to go downtown to check out a few cooking stores as well as the new Anthropologie that opened up in May. I haven’t been able to get to it because of school. Actually, I probably should have been at home studying, but I can only stay indoors for so long writing essays in the heat before I start to go cray-zay. I have a 15-page essay due tomorrow (done!) and another last response paper before two finals. Then two weeks of freedom before fall semester. Thankfully I have VEGAS to think about to get me through!
There were a few stores I wanted to visit, Anthropologie, Cookworks, and Whole Foods. We also stopped in at Williams Sonoma, and a few other home furniture stores. Our first stop was at the lululemon outlet where I found the Aura sweatshirt I had been swooning over. On sale. I love it cause it’s reversible and striped!! I love going shopping =) Even Adam was eyeing some pre-tty nice coffee tables at Country Furniture. Somehow I don’t think we will be buying a 3,000$ coffee table such as this one. Though, I don’t know why… haha
.
Before we (read: I) went crazy at Anthropologie we decided to get some brunch. We walked around South Granville for a while searching for something other than Cafe Crepe. We happened to walk to the Academic Public House on Broadway. I had never been there to eat. We saw they had a sign for Weekend Brunch and an outdoor patio, so we were both sold. I convinved Adam to get the ‘Hangover Burger’ which had a fried egg on it so I could have a bite. Due to my ‘allergy’ I can’t eat eggs on their own without feeling a little sick, but I always want them. The hashbrowns that came with it were absolutely de-licious. I think they had steak spice on them. I orderd the French Toast, it contains eggs but its not quite the same as eating one on its own. It was so good. It was stuffed, which I didn’t realize, with nutella and banans, and the outside was coated in corn flakes! Absoultely scrumptious. The best part? I saw someone using a Groupon, found it online, bought it and redeemed it all within a few minutes. I love my Iphone.
It was sunny. Really sunny. I think I got burnt sitting outside while we ate. After brunch we went back to Anthropologie to do some damage. I already want to go back, but will wait until they get some new products.
This was one of the first things I saw. I just love the look of these mugs. I also swooned over their collection of door knobs! Adam and I were going to get some, but we couldn’t agree on anything. Oh well.
I love that everything is colour coded. The jewel tones of these ceramics are just dreamy.
They have a rather cute collection of aprons, but Adam reminded me that I already had a Jesse Steele one.
These bowls. Seriously I want them. But they were an odd size, not too big, and not too small, but I’m not sure what I would use them for, and at $10 each I thought I could go without it…for now..
And these. Ceramic produce baskets! I want. I need. They also had larger white ones. Perfect for holding summer strawberries!
Ok, and how cute is this. Ceramic egg holders! And those milk jugs? Measuring cups! They stack together. Want. Need.
I will definitely be going back. I also bought some goodies. You don’t think I could have gone in there without buying something did you? I’ll share what I got in the next post =)
Hope you had a lovely weekend!
Ciao :)
