I started this blog to catalog my love of all things food. It was 2008, and I was obsessed with the Shopaholic novel series – hence the title. I’ve debated changing the name of the blog, but after having it for so many years I feel that I can’t give it up now.
This blog is an outlet for my passion and obsession with food. It has transformed over the years from a baking blog, to a healthy-living, clean-eating, healthier baking blog with easy recipes for cooking and baking – with the occasional indulgent recipes.
I come from a big Italian family. I’ve grown up eating some very good food, and as such I have gained a love for cooking and baking.
After finding out more about my food allergies in 2012 – I have a wheat/corn/dairy allergy – I changed my diet. I avoid wheat and corn on a daily basis, and I cut out milk about 5 years ago. Now I use almond milk, or coconut milk, and instead of cheese I eat goat cheese (on occasion.) I have also cut out flour, now I make my own wheat-free oat flour, or use almond meal, coconut flour, rice flour, or a gluten-free flour blend in its place for baking. The changes have made a huge difference.
I’m a grade 5 teacher and newlywed (married september 5, 2015).
Most days you can find me cooking {for Adam} eating {with friends and family} and cleaning {sometimes} in my kitchen alongside my dog Lainey.
